Static hosting is fast, cheap and secure — until you need a contact form. Here's how to keep the site static and still receive messages.
There's no server process on your host to receive the POST and talk to an SMTP server. You need something else to receive it.
Some hosts have built-in form handling (e.g. Netlify Forms), which ties your forms to that host. A host-independent endpoint means you can move between GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages, Vercel or S3 without touching your forms.
